Strawberry Gashes

Turn her over
A candle is lit, I see through her
Blow it out and save all her ashes for me

Curse me sold her
The poison that runs it's course through her
Pale white skin with strawberry gashes all over all over

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
She said kill me faster
with strawberry gashes all over

Called her over
and asked her if she was improving
She said "feels fine" it's wonderful wonderful here

Hex me told her
I dreamt of a devil that knew her
Pale white skin with strawberry gashes all over all over

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
She said kill me faster
with strawberry gashes all over

I lay quiet
waiting for her voice to say
"Some things you lose and some things you just give away"

Scold me failed her
If only I'd held on tighter to her
Pale white skin that twisted and withered away from me away from me

Watch me lose her
It's almost like losing myself
Give her my soul
and let them take somebody else get away from me

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
She said kill me faster
with strawberry gashes all over all over me

Lament of the Lamb Vid, click me!

OOC: The rest of this is NOT visible for characters in the game, but you know, for your own personal information ;) WARNING: Big spoilers for "Lament of the Lamb"

Background: Chizuna Takashiro lived with her mother and father for the first five or so years of her life, until her mother died. Chizuna believes this is because of her mother’s sickness (all Takashiro women are "cursed" with the same sickness) however, this is not true. Momoko, Chizuna's mother, was slowly losing her sanity due to the Takashiro sickness. She often forgot Chizuna was her child, and this was very damaging to the girl, because she loved her mother very much. One day, Momoko was suffering an "attack" (experiencing violent blood lust) and because of this, and because she pitied her child who had the same sickness, Momoko tried to strangle Chizuna to death. In fear, Chizuna reached out for anything near, and found a pair of garden sheers, and on impulse stabbed her mother. This ended Momoko's life, but even cannonly Chizuna repressed this, not remembering it until the end of the manga.

With Momoko dead, her father decided to take her away from the family house but left her brother, Kazuna, with some friends of his. This was because he believed Kazuna was not infected, because males usually aren’t. Chizuna lived with her father and spent a great deal of time with a medical student who would later become a brother-type figure to her, and her doctor. He, Minase, felt a strong bond with her father, Shizuna. This was because Shizuna, a doctor, saved his life once when he was a child. Minase spent a great deal of time with Shizuna and Chizuna, and was in love with Chizuna from the time she was a little girl. He claims the instant he fell in love with her was when she struck his eye with a sharp stick and drank the blood, because it meant she needed him. He vowed to always be with her and find a cure for her illness. He even tried to take her away from her father at one point when she was small, because he knew Shizuna was bad for her.

Minase knew that Chizuna and Shizuna's relationship had become incestuous. This was because as Chizuna grew (she was about 14 at the time) she grew more and more into Momoko's image. Shizuna would often cut his arm and let Chizuna drink from it, just as he used to for Momoko. Chizuna knew and resented that she was a replacement for her mother, but still completely devoted herself to her father, claiming she loved him completely in every way. Shizuna was slowly growing mad with guilt over what he was doing to his daughter, and one time even tried to strangle her in the same way Momoko had, until one day he finally killed himself. Chizuna came home and discovered this, and was going to kill herself too, but Minase found her and stopped her.

All this said and done, Chizuna decided to move back into her old family house, to be closer to the memory of her father. Unknown to her, her father had buried her mother under the Sakura tree in the back yard, and this repressed memory always shows up in Chizuna's nightmares. By now, Minase has developed a medicine for Chizuna, which is a heavy duty tranquilizer. This is hard on Chizuna's heart, but in her state she doesn’t care, and slowly develops an addiction. Minase visits her a few times a week to check up on her, and give her medicine.

One day, her brother Kazuna happens to visit the old house. He, oddly enough, looks just the same as Shizuna, as Chizuna looks just the same as Momoko. At first Chizuna doesn’t even want him around, she tells Kazuna about the family sickness in attempt to scare him away, and tells him not to come back. Then, when she discovers Kazuna is infected with the sickness, she realizes she can manipulate him the same way her father manipulated her into loving him. Once she finds Kazuna having an attack, she cuts her arm and lets him drink. She also semi-forces Kazuna to move in with her, and abandon everyone he knows (his aunt, uncle, and friends).

Suffering through despair, attacks, and notions of suicide, the pair of siblings eventually grow closer. Kazuna knows he is only a replacement for Shizuna, but he doesn’t care, because his sister is all he has left. Chizuna knows this, and is beginning to feel guilty over what she is doing to her brother. She is tender and sweet while helping him through his attacks, all the while taking the medicine that is slowly killing her.

When Minase refuses to give her as much medicine, dreams of her father bring her nightly attacks. She will not feed from Kazuna however, not wanting to be as she was with her father. One night, she sobbingly confesses to Kazuna about her relationship with Shizuna, and kisses him. From here on they are more honest with each other, their relationship becoming sweeter.

However, when Chizuna grows weak and can not handle any more medication, she suffers a horrible attack that almost kills her. Minase uses it as an opportunity to steal Chizuna away to her father's old clinic. He keeps her there against her will, insisting she needs to be away from Kazuna to get better. She admits this way be true, but all she wants to do is get home and take care of her brother. She attempts to walk/hitchhike her way there, but passes out along the way, and is brought back to the clinic by a passing trucker. Minase is not happy with this, and confesses his love to Chizuna, while holding her down and nearly raping her. She looks at him passively, brokenly, not willing to fight him. Minase gets off her and tells her she still wont let her leave, locking her inside for the night. Chizuna locates the key by remembering where Minase used to hide things in the clinic when they were young. She escapes, and makes it back to her brother. She also steals a lot of the medicine, knowing without it she will not be stable enough to take care of Kazuna.

She doesn’t last very long like this. Another horrible attack puts her in the hospital, and it becomes clear she'll die very soon. By now Kazuna is skipping school every day to see her. Eventually, she manages to convince Minase to let her go home (after she remembers what she did to her mother, and was angered with him for not telling her) and she returns to the family house with Kazuna. She sleeps on the porch where she can see the sakura tree where her mother is buried, because she wants to "face all of her demons."

One night, she is suffering an attack, and knows she will die. She does not want Kazuna to call Minase; she just wants her brother to sit with her while she dies. Kazuna then takes out a little bottle with a pill. When in a fit of despair, he had claimed that he wanted to die, so Chizuna gave him the pill, saying it was the same type her father had used to kill himself. Kazuna held onto it the whole time, and shows Chizuna. Chizuna tells him not to use it, but Kazuna says he doesn’t have anything if he doesn't have her, and so he takes the pill, and they die together.

Personality: Outwardly, Chizuna is very cold. This is because people tend to treat her badly; Takashiros are considered to be “devils” or “witches” where they come from, and Chizuna herself is not a very welcoming person, so people tend to read her badly, and not bother to get to know her. So, she has developed the type of personality that repels people. She is however, very lonely because of this. She also won’t put up with anything from anyone, she’s very forward and doesn’t like to play games.

She can even be cruel and manipulative, if you get on her bad side. This is because of how she was raised, how her mother –someone she trusted- attempted to kill her, and her father abused and then abandoned her. She has no problem hurting other people to get what she wants, because she doesn’t really see the value in other people, putting value in only herself and people close to her.

In the right mood she can be very tender and protective, even possessive of people she gets close to. This is because she so rarely gets close to people. She is a very lonely girl, and when someone is stubborn enough to stick around her, and she feels bonded to them, she feels comfortable to show the more vulnerable side of herself. She’s also a very sad person, because of having to deal with her sickness all her life, although because of it she’s very strong and good at controlling her own emotions. Always living with sadness had taught her how to deal with it, and she doesn’t have much sympathy for people who can’t control their emotions as effectively as her.

Her relation to Momoko shows her more vulnerable side; she loved and loves her mother very much, and even when her mother would forget about her or attack her, she would still return to her, taking all the abuse because on a rare occasion, her mother would hold her and read her stories and act like a real mother. This, coupled with Chizuna putting up with her father’s abuse, shows how desperate for affection she is, deep down. Her interaction with Momoko also shows that despite her sickness, she is impulsively a fighter, and will struggle to live even if her mother wants her to die.

Chizuna’s relation to Shizuna shows that she is capable of love in unthinkable situations; because she really did love him. She gave everything she had to her father, her “mind body and soul” in hopes of keeping an obviously slipping Shizuna with her. When she had the chance to leave with Minase she didn’t. because she wanted to stay with whom she cared about and who she believed needed her, showing both how she can be an odd combination of selfish and considerate.

Kazuna is the character that brings out her soft side the most, and at the beginning, her worse side. She tries to manipulate him into depending on her in the beginning, not caring about his wellbeing, but because they slowly fall in love, he becomes the center of her world. She takes the medicine that’s slowly killing her just so she can be with him, and I believe this shows how obsessive she can be.

Finally, Minase’s character shows that Chizuna has a problem doing what is logically best for herself (when he was a wholesome “brother figure” she still wouldn’t go with him and away from Shizuna) and would rather do what feels good emotionally, or is better for those she cares about, then what is better for herself.

The Takashiro Illness

This illness or curse was placed on the Takashiro family in ancient times, and is passed down from the mother to daughter, usually. Whenever anyone who has it sees/smells blood or sees something red, they suffer violent blood lust. Side effects to not drinking are fever, sweats, horrible strain on the body, weakness, and black outs. Eventual side effects of the illness are said to be madness and death.
